Rhotano Mercantile is a queer friendly, sex positive, RP FC on Mateus. We seek to offer a casual, comfortable environment and a mix of arc-based DMed events and more casual, relaxed scenes.Membership in the FC itself is greatly preferred, but we are open to anyone who is able to attend RP events on Mateus.We are housed at Mist Ward 19 Plot 51.

Rhotano Mercantile on the surface appears to be a simple shipping company. They handle both overland and maritime transportation, as well as selling a small selection of goods themselves, sourced from foreign markets.The reality is this shipping company is merely a front. The organization, the true organization, is one that seeks one simple goal: control. The founder of this organization wishes to rule Eorzea, and beyond. Her reasons for this desire are personal, but there is room for those with other goals. Control can be a profitable venture. Regardless of your desires, be they gil, resources, vices, or power, Rhotano Mercantile can offer them to you. Some are here for the thrill, some to further research that is scorned, some still join out of abject greed. So long as you can contribute this organization will see to it that your goals are fulfilled.What does this control look like? Certainly not conquest. Garlemald's conquests showcase the failures of that method readily enough. No, true control isn't through domination, but through influence. Different groups have their leaders, but their leaders can be bribed, blackmailed, or even employed as needed. Even the powerful are not incapable of being influenced, should an organization acquire the resources needed to do so; gil, secrets, manpower, poisons, magicks, and anything else that can let Rhotano Mercantile control the levers of power.OOC:
Rhotano Mercantile is a small, medium-RP FC. We're a pretty casual bunch, but we still love a good storyline! To this end we do run arcs, while also mixing in casual social nights. While nothing compares to participating in arcs, that doesn't mean you're going to be out of the loop if your schedule doesn't allow you to attend each event. We'll do our best to make sure people are kept in the loop, IC and OOC, because just like you we have lives that can keep us from RPing as much as we'd like.We're also a relatively smaller group. Some people like to be part of big RP groups/FCs, and that's fine! But most of us like the smaller, more intimate kind of group where people know each other. You might feel a bit out of the loop at first, but we'll all do our best to include you so you don't feel left out. We want you to enjoy the OOC as much as the IC, that is to say, a lot!We use an IC ranking system as well as an IC "facet" system, in which members are part of a specialized section of the organization, in order to ensure each member both has a sense of progression and their character has a flexible, but defined role within the organization. This system is not set in stone and can evolve in time as our OOC and IC needs dictate. This can help give direction for our members to have a sense of their character's role within the organization, as well as what they might be doing with their time.

Structure/Ranks
Rhotano Mercantile is organized into different facets and ranks. The organization is headed by The Council, which oversees all matters. The High-Commander may be in charge of The Council, but may still be overruled by other members of The Council in a majority vote. Below The Council are the facets, different sections of the organization. Facet Ranks are within that facet only. A Facet Captain does not have authority over someone in a different facet. The ranks are as follows----------Council Ranks----------
High-Commander: The position held by the leader of the organization, currently occupied by Kjra Darkblade. The High-Commander is in charge of The Council and thus the entire organization.
Commander: A commander is one who sits upon The Council. They work with the rest of The Council to oversee Rhotano Mercantile. While they may override the decisions of the High-Commander they are appointed by the High-Commander. Commanders may choose to focus on a specific facet, but are still supposed to deal with all facets at some level.
----------Facet Ranks----------
Facet Captain: The head of a specific facet. They deal with all decisions within their facets and report to The Council. They are responsible for organizing activity within their facets and handling any issues before they grow.
Sub-Captain: Sub-Captains assist their respective Facet Captains. Their specific duties will depend upon the needs of the Facet Captain. This role is not one that must be filled, and the promotion to Sub-Captain will be upon the recommendation of the Facet Captain and approval of The Council.
Member: The bulk of the membership of Rhotano Mercantile is in this rank. They are the rank-and-file that make the organization work. Each member is assigned to a facet, which then determines their specific duties.The facets are:Research: Researchers investigate artifacts. Their duties do not just include artifacts in the possession of Rhotano Mercantile but also seeking out new artifacts to acquire. Researchers may specialize in specific areas such as magical or tech based research.
Agents: These members do the dirty work of Rhotano Mercantile. Their primary goal is to acquire new artifacts, but they also may perform tasks such as assassination, intimidation, guardwork, or other related tasks.
Diplomacy: Diplomats handle those tasks requiring a lighter touch. While diplomacy is their namesake their ranks also include merchants, spies, and those with a penchant for manipulation.
Medical: Medical handles the health and wellbeing of members. This includes field medics, chirurgeons, and mental health specialists like therapists.
FC House Personal Rooms
Personal rooms do not have to be designed for the FC to use for RP. Those kind enough to use their personal room for the FC will have them listen here, for easy reference.Room 1: Kjra's Office
The personal office of Kjra Darkblade. This is where Kjra often meets with members one-on-one, or for mission briefings. If the door is locked she might be passed out on the bed. Maybe tell her to stop overworking herself when she wakes up.Room 3: Bath House
While the warm baths are the main focus of this room it is designed to be an overall relaxing experience. Containing a small garden, sitting desks, pleasant lighting, not to mention two Far Eastern style warm baths, this room will help anyone relax and forget their stress for a while.Room 4: Holding Facility
The Rhotano Mercantile has occasional need for these private detention center facilities, for such purposes as intelligence retrieval, or placing important persons under our temporary protection. Margeaux Myste maintains these facilities to ensure that our guests are healthy and secure until our agents are ready to process them.Room 8: Library?
When you enter it's just a small library. It's strange though, why is it so dark? If you ask around someone might just point out a hidden button on the bookcase. Apparently this button gives you access to the room behind, where vices can be found. What a strange room to have.

Leves
Rhotano Mercantile uses an RP Leve system. In this system members can select a leve either for themselves or a small group. They will then work out the details of when to run the leve with the DM (usually Ryaad/Kjra). When the leve is ongoing it is effectively the same as any other DMed event, the primary difference is instead of it being a preset time the time is worked out between attendees and the DM ahead of time.Some special leves, which will be marked, may advance either a larger story or operations within a specific region. Regions will unlock more leves as special leves are completed. This represents increased Rhotano Mercantile operations within a region.
Leve Categories:-Combat: These leves primarily deal with combat. This will be the bread and butter of leves as they are the easiest to plan and run.-Stealth: Stealth leves involve infiltration, hiding, sneaking, and generally How Not To Be Seen. These can devolve into combat if caught, especially when classified as a hybrid "Combat/Stealth."-Negotiation: While not threatening in the physical sense (usually!) these leves can still be tricky. Negotiation involves talking to people, convincing them, offering favors, things of that nature.
Leve Locations:-La Noscea: The primary base of operations for Rhotano Mercantile, you can except a large number and variety of leves here.-Thanalan: The desert is a great place for the Mercantile's less savory operations. Combat and negotiation will be the bulk of the leves here.-The Black Shroud: Sure there's potential, but there's also demi-gods that dissolve people here so the Mercantile is careful about the scale of operations. Stealth and negotiation are the order of the day in the forest.-Coerthas: Rhotano Mercantile does not yet have any formal operations in the snow covered region. Expect a small number of varied leves while that begins to change.
Rhotano Mercantile Leves
La Noscea:[Combat] Recover Shipment (Western La Noscea): A group of thieves have taken a shipment of somnus from us en route to a customer. As somnus is illegal the Yellowjackets should not be allowed to be made aware of the situation. The Rogue’s Guild is also considered too risky. The thieves have agreed to return our goods for a price. Journey to the Isle of Umbra and give them a counter offer, steel instead of gil.[Combat/Stealth] Obtain Magitek (Eastern La Noscea): Castrum Occidens has a variety of magitek devices, ripe for the taking. Of particular interest are anything involved in research and analysis. Infiltrate the Castrum and make off with whatever you’re able to.[Negotiation] Purchase Services (Lower La Noscea): One of vessels, typically used for smuggling, sustained some damage from a Sahagin attack. The vessel is as sea-worthy as ever, but secret compartments on the ship are now exposed. Carefully negotiate the services of a shipwright at Moraby Drydocks to see to their repair.
Thanalan:[Combat] Retrieve Goods (Western Thanalan): A courier that was to take a smuggled shipment of dream flowers from Vesper Bay to Ul’dah got scared off by a Brass Blades checkpoint east of the town. He foolishly ran off to the north where he was presumably killed by wildlife, likely in the Parata’s Peace area. Recover his goods, or see to their destruction if they have been damaged.[Combat] Eliminate Amalj’aa (Southern Thanalan): Rhotano Mercantile maintains a positive public face. While the shipping company is most of that some philanthropic endeavors help solidify this reputation. We’ve agreed to help the U tribe and Little Ala Mhigo clear out some Amalj’aa in the Sagoli desert. This will help ensure we maintain good will in the area.
The Black Shroud:[Stealth] Transport Milkroot (East Shroud): It seems a soldier stationed at Amarissaix’s Spire has been providing Milkroot to their comrades. We are happy to obtain some from the Sylphs for this soldier, their gil spends as well as anyone else’s after all. Sneaks some Milkroot out of the Sylphlands to Amarissaix’s Spire, we’ve already received their payment.
Coerthas:[Negotiation] Negotiate Arms Deal (Coerthas Central Highlands): The Ishgardian Knights are the most powerful military force native to Eorzea. Naturally their arms are of high quality. Thankfully a quartermaster has decided they care more about gil than Halone. Meet with them at Camp Dragonhead and negotiate the details of this deal. If you’re able to acquire machinist arms even better.
